| Abstract: |
| The OIE system is based on the Covello-Merkhofer system.Codex Alimentarius uses a different,but equally valid system,designed by the US National Academy of Science(NAS,1983).The issue of antimicrobial-resistance from use of antimicrobials in food-producing animals bridges the domain of OIE for animal husbandry and that of the FAO for food safety.It is therefore useful to compare these two systems in defining terms used in this paper to help integrate the two approaches. |
